The Florida Wildflower Specialty License Plate was designed
in 1999 by Bill Celander, a Tallahassee commercial artist. Celander's
specializes in characterization design.
His design
depicts an artistically enhanced meadow of wildflowers with a
foreground emphasis on the Coreopsis, the state wildflower. Bits
of Florida's famous saw palmettos turn up in the plate's lower
corners, with the plate also showing a ladybug and the zebra longwing,
the state butterfly.
The wildflower
tag offers an appealing scene of lively colors suggesting the
herbaceous greenery of the Sunshine State. Due to its colorful
design, the tag looks great on vehicles from sports cars and sedans
to SUVs and pickup trucks. The design is versatile enough to compliment
any color of vehicle. Among the state's more than 100 specialty
tags, the wildflower specialty tag is often praised as among the
most attractive.
